Prospect Mountain

SPRING FLING

March 24, 2001

Otherwise known as the "Prospect Mountain Mid-Winter Fling". With a snow base of 4 to 8 feet and 14 inches of new snow, this year's race was held on a 6 kilometer course, with the option of doing 2 laps for a 12 k race. Both classical and skating skiers participated. Waxing for the classical race was tricky as more wet, sticky snow fell during the race (Maxiglide on waxless skis? It worked for Carolyn Engelhardt, the only woman to successfully complete the 12 k classical race!) There was one Ironman, Dave Fredrickson, and one Ironwoman, Leslie Krichko, who skied BOTH the 6k skate and 6k classical races!

7 - 16 to 19 year old female
